DAXA to Hold '2026 AML Evaluation Briefing' for Virtual Asset Service Providers, "Preemptive Response to Regulatory Changes"

The Digital Asset Exchange Alliance (DAXA) announced on the 12th that it held a “2026 AML (Anti-Money Laundering) System Compliance Evaluation Briefing Session” for domestic virtual asset service providers (hereinafter referred to as “businesses”) at Dreamplus Gangnam.

The briefing was organized following partial improvements to the AML compliance evaluation indicators conducted annually by the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU). Its purpose was to help businesses clearly understand the revised evaluation items and standards and to efficiently prepare for them in practice.

During the session, the overall structure and key changes of the revamped AML compliance evaluation indicators were shared. In particular, specific evaluation criteria that practitioners should pay close attention to were explained in detail, helping attendees enhance their understanding.

Kim Jae-jin, Executive Vice Chairman of DAXA, stated, “This briefing was designed to help businesses thoroughly strengthen their anti-money laundering capabilities in line with the revised system,” adding, “The alliance will continue to provide active support so that the entire digital asset industry can proactively and effectively respond to regulatory changes.”

Meanwhile, the AML compliance evaluation is a system under which the FIU comprehensively assesses the risk management frameworks of financial companies and other institutions each year to strengthen Korea’s capabilities in anti-money laundering (AML) and counter-terrorist financing (CFT).
