Dunamu Launches 4th UpSide Academy to Cultivate Web3 Security Talent

Dunamu, the operator of digital asset exchange Upbit (CEO Oh Kyung-seok), announced on the 24th that it successfully held the launch ceremony for the 4th cohort of the ‘UPSide Academy,’ a program designed to cultivate cybersecurity talent.

UPSide Academy is the nation’s first Web3 security talent development program, jointly operated by Dunamu and security specialist company Theori. The program aims to nurture hands-on professionals capable of responding to the rapidly evolving IT ecosystem and the expansion of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies.

The 4th cohort will run for a total of 18 weeks. Trainees will first undergo an intensive training period covering the latest security technologies in depth, followed by a project phase in which they will carry out practical assignments combining cybersecurity and blockchain technologies.

In particular, to mark the launch of the 4th cohort, Dunamu has newly established a dedicated training space called ‘UP Space’ in Yeoksam-dong, Seoul. Trainees will be fully supported with the latest MacBooks, a monthly activity stipend of 1 million KRW, and project operation expenses. In addition, through a credit-recognized field internship program in partnership with eight major domestic universities, participants can earn up to 12 academic credits.

Lee Woo-jin, a trainee from the 4th cohort who attended the launch ceremony, said, “After going through a highly challenging practical exam and a one-on-one technical interview, I felt an even stronger desire to succeed,” adding, “With the support of mentors who outnumber the trainees, I will strive to become a top-tier security professional.”

Jung Jae-yong, Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) of Dunamu, emphasized, “We will spare no support to help trainees grow into key talents through hands-on projects in this new dedicated space.”

Park Se-jun, CEO of Theori, also encouraged the trainees, saying, “If you focus and immerse yourself in becoming better than yesterday every day, you will discover a markedly different version of yourself four months from now.”
