AI Issues Grim Warning That If Bitcoin Crashes XRP Will Plunge to $0.50

Artificial intelligence chatbot ChatGPT has drawn market attention after assessing the possibility of XRP (Ripple), which has recently undergone a price correction, falling to $0.50.

According to cryptocurrency-focused outlet Finbold on February 22 (local time), ChatGPT evaluated the likelihood of XRP plunging about 65% from its current level of around $1.40 to $0.50 as a highly unusual tail-risk scenario. While such a drop is not unprecedented in the crypto market, it would likely require a severe systemic panic, such as a sharp collapse in Bitcoin (BTC), a strong regulatory shock targeting XRP, or a major exchange bankruptcy.

Specifically, ChatGPT estimated the probability of XRP falling to $0.50 in the short term, within one to three months, at just 5%. However, from a medium-term perspective spanning six to twelve months, the probability rises somewhat to between 12% and 15%. This reflects the cumulative nature of crypto volatility over time and the increasing likelihood of macroeconomic risk events.

XRP’s recent decline mirrors the broader market downturn, in which Bitcoin—the leading cryptocurrency—fell below $70,000, triggering more than $2 billion in liquidations. In particular, slowing inflows into spot XRP ETFs, coupled with macroeconomic pressures such as high interest rates and inflation and escalating geopolitical tensions, have fueled heavy losses in leveraged positions and intensified selling pressure.

XRP is currently trading at $1.38, and overall technical indicators remain weak. The price is significantly below the 50-day simple moving average of $1.78 and the 200-day simple moving average of $2.31, signaling continued downward momentum. The 14-day Relative Strength Index stands at 42.06, remaining in neutral territory rather than oversold, indicating a lack of strong buying pressure to drive a short-term rebound.
