XRP Hits Most Oversold Level in 12 Years, Signals 40% Surge
XRP has entered its most oversold territory in 12 years, setting the stage for a potentially explosive rebound of more than 40%, as seen in past cases.
According to crypto-focused outlet NewsBTC on February 11 (local time), digital asset researcher Ripple Bull Winkle analyzed that XRP’s daily Relative Strength Index (RSI) fell to between 17 and 20, marking historic oversold levels. He emphasized that this is the first time in 12 years such extreme readings have appeared, and every time similar levels were recorded, a strong rebound ranging from 15% to 40% followed within two weeks.
XRP has been in a prolonged downtrend since starting its decline near $2.80 last October, recently falling to around $1.42—nearly half its value. However, the recent confirmation of a bottom in momentum indicators suggests that selling pressure has reached its limits, raising expectations among investors for a short-term short squeeze. Based on these indicators, Ripple Bull Winkle projected that the most probable market scenario for this year is a recovery to the $2.20 to $2.50 range by the end of February.
Looking at past patterns, previous oversold periods in April and mid-2024 led to rapid recoveries of 35% and 65%, respectively, while in October last year XRP surged about 70% within just half a month. Such sharp rallies occurred as buying pressure flooded in after selling momentum was exhausted, and current technical conditions appear to be creating a similar environment. On the chart, significant liquidity zones tied to large short positions are visible above $2.25 and between $4.20 and $4.40, suggesting that volatility could accelerate further if prices rise.
Price movements in major assets such as Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH) are also creating a favorable environment for XRP’s rebound. As institutional funds continue to flow steadily into spot Bitcoin ETFs, shifts in Bitcoin’s market dominance could serve as an inflection point accelerating capital rotation into the altcoin market.
