Bitcoin (BTC) has staged a dramatic rebound to reclaim the $71,000 level after a steep sell-off that threatened the $60,000 mark. Against this backdrop, a brief message from Michael Saylor, Chairman of Strategy (MSTR), is fueling speculation about a large-scale additional accumulation.
According to cryptocurrency outlet U.Today on February 8 (local time), as Bitcoin began a sharp rebound, Saylor posted the message “Bitcoin is Hope” on X (formerly Twitter). His remark is widely interpreted as an effort to restore market confidence after investment sentiment froze amid Bitcoin’s recent plunge toward the $60,000 area. In particular, heated debate has emerged across the digital asset industry over the possibility that Strategy may have secretly accumulated a massive position of roughly 60,000 BTC during the downturn.
An analysis of on-chain data and recent disclosures indicates that Strategy’s aggressive push to acquire Bitcoin remains ongoing. As of November 2025, Strategy held approximately 649,870 BTC, but the latest report shows its holdings have grown to about 713,502 BTC. That means an additional 63,632 BTC were purchased within just a few months, providing strong evidence that Saylor continues to adhere to his long-stated strategy of permanent Bitcoin ownership. Market experts believe Strategy likely concentrated its buying near the early-$60,000 lows.
Strategy’s average Bitcoin purchase price is estimated at around $76,000, placing it temporarily in an unrealized loss territory due to the recent price decline. However, Saylor dismissed market concerns, emphasizing that the company’s debt maturities are still years away and that its financial structure is resilient enough to withstand even a 90% collapse in Bitcoin’s price. Indeed, as Bitcoin recovered to the $71,000 level, Strategy’s share price surged more than 25% in a single day, showing strong correlation with the rise in asset value.
The rebound in the Bitcoin market is accelerating as institutional investors increasingly view prices below $70,000 as a new entry opportunity. Major asset managers such as Bitwise have analyzed that this correction triggered a handoff in which retail capitulation flowed into long-term institutional wallets. Saylor’s brief but powerful message reflects this institution-led accumulation trend and suggests that Bitcoin is evolving beyond a speculative asset into a global strategic reserve asset.
