XRP fell 4.25% in a single day, sliding to $1.36, with the decline driven more by broad market fear than by issues specific to the coin itself.
According to CoinMarketCap on February 11 (local time), XRP traded at $1.36, down 4.25% over the past 24 hours, continuing its downward trend. During the same period, Bitcoin (BTC) dropped 3.29%, and the total cryptocurrency market capitalization decreased by 3.06%. The Fear & Greed Index remained at 9, firmly in the “Extreme Fear” zone.
The outlet analyzed that the recent decline reflects a broad market sell-off driven by risk-off sentiment rather than negative news surrounding any specific coin. XRP moved in tandem with Bitcoin but recorded a steeper drop, behaving like a high-beta asset. This reflects a structure in which altcoins face relatively stronger selling pressure as market anxiety rises.
In fact, the CMC Altcoin Season Index stood at 27, marking a 15.62% decline over the past week. This suggests that sector rotation is underway, with funds flowing out of highly volatile altcoins into assets perceived as relatively safer. In such an environment, altcoins like XRP are more likely to post sharper declines compared to Bitcoin.
Technically, the structure also leans bearish. XRP is trading below its 7-day simple moving average (SMA) of $1.41 and its 30-day SMA of $1.78. The short-term resistance level is identified at the daily pivot point of $1.41. If support at $1.36 holds, short-term consolidation may occur; however, if this level breaks down, the next support could form near $1.30.
The outlet assessed that without stabilization in Bitcoin, XRP’s independent rebound is likely to remain limited. In the short term, reclaiming the $1.41 level is expected to serve as the first signal of a potential momentum shift.
